Abstract :
The development of hardware and software for remote control of sparsely located industrial units in various locations controlled through Internet is reported. Three model plants are taken into consideration to illustrate the remote control activity. A simple chemical chamber with four processes namely temperature, liquid level, pneumatic pressure and liquid flow is taken as example for one model plant. These parameters are sensed remotely and controlled interactively. The second plant is a production plant located in another place involving in producing materials for industrial needs where the process is set to follow a pre-defined temperature time profile. The production is monitored and controlled interactively. Another approach for remote control activity is presented by taking a smart home as third model plant.
