Abstract
The key of the conceptual design is a function problem. This paper makes a study of function decomposition and establishes a new mathematics model of function decomposition based on granularity transform theory. Every hierarchy of function decomposition is considered granularity space. So function decomposition is regarded as mapping from coarse-grained space to fine-grained space. Therefore, this paper adopts grain space model to represent the process of function decomposition and establishes mathematics model of the process. The model can help realize the computerization of function decomposition in conceptual design.
