Abstract :
Modern technologies such as GIS, remote sensing technology, traffic simulation technology and intelligent transportation system are developing rapidly, which have deeply changed the traffic behaviors. In order to meet the quick changing in transportation and use the emerging new technologies, the transportation planning system should have flexible architecture. In this paper a flexible architecture of transportation planning system based on GIS-T is proposed, using the service-oriented architecture technique. First, several kinds of the widely used transportation planning software are compared. The features which the new generation transportation planning system must have are given according to the analysis results. Then, service-oriented architecture technique is involved in new generation transportation planning system architecture design and itpsilas applicability is also studied. The flexible architecture of transportation planning system based on GIS-T is designed based on service-oriented architecture technique. In the last part of the paper, the implementation of the system is also studied. The planning system uses XML document to process data, which is the base of the systempsilas interoperability.
