  • Abstract
    Communication Systems are essential for the safe and efficient operation of railway systems. They are used in all operating modes including normal, degraded and emergencies. In this paper we provide an introduction to Railway Communication Systems including design principles and applications within the context of the London Underground operating environment. The paper concludes with a look into the future of Railway Communication applications.
