China has been demonstrating a conspicuous economic growth since the economic reform started in 1978. Accompanying with the rapid growth of national economy, the development of regional economies has been very divergent. Taking China´s economic development in each respective 31 regions since its economic reform, this paper focuses on the empirical analysis, which indicates that China´s nationwide economic development has shifted from an inter regional homogeneity to an inter regional heterogeneity to welcome the global shift from industry society to information society since the 1990s.
