Abstract
The ultrafast electron-phonon coupling dynamics due to a breather soliton inducing amplitude and frequency modulations after photoexcitation in trans-polyacetylene was observed by ultrafast multicolor spectroscopy. The results were in good agreement with recent theoretical predictions.
