  • Abstract
The microlaser consists of a tapered-fiber-coupled fused-silica microsphere, with HgTe nanocrystals deposited on one tapered fiber. Compared to a microlaser having a coated microsphere, the lasing signal is cleaner and the cavity Q remains high.
