Abstract
We investigate emission of diamond nanocrystals containing nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers within opal photonic crystals (PC). The PC exhibits a stopband that overlaps the NV photoluminescence spectrum. A modified emission spectrum and increased lifetime were measured.
