Abstract
This paper presents a test-bed test-bed platform for implementing and evaluating bio-inspired approaches over real distributed systems. It enables each software agent to be dynamically organized with other agents and deployed at computers according to its own organization and deployment policies. We developed several bio-inspired approaches with the platform to evaluate them over real distributed systems instead of using simulation-based evaluations. In fact, our experiment on an ant-based routing mechanism, which is one of the most typical bio-inspired approaches for distributed systems obtained different results from the results of existing simulation-based experiments. We believe that our platform is useful for bridging the gap between simulation-based approaches and real systems.
