Abstract :
As the most important field of research, curve generalization is still unfading after several decades´ years. Because of the importance of line expression in map elements, and on the other hand the faultiness and juvenility of theory and technology of cartographic generalization and linear generalization their own, This paper introduces the hot methods on line generalization in map generalization, and then analysis why the map generalization would reduce the quality if we choice the line generalization which has several data uncertainty. Author introduces the curve fit algorithm about line generalization in map generalization, then analyzing it in detail.
