Abstract :
Although Rate control algorithm of TM5 model on MPEG-2 is early classical algorithm, which is able to control rate and complexity lower than Hol7, this algorithm has some insufficiency. This paper analyses rate control algorithm on TM5, Using "virtual buffer" for reference, propose a rate control improved algorithm, which can efficiently control rate, without updating MAD prediction model and R-D model, thus the complication of calculation is decreased greatly, suitable for sensitive situation for computational complexity.
