Abstract :
Based on the least square method and error estimation theory, the planar positioning error of 5-station TDOA positioning system with a redundant measuring station was studied by numerical computation method in three-dimensional space. Result obtained is different from that based on probability positioning algorithm. The comparison compared with the 4-station TOA positioning system indicates that the measuring error of variable nearly parallel to coordinate axis can be significantly reduced by increasing the quantity of measuring station providing that the target moves alone straight line in horizontal.
