Abstract
Due to the system obturation, surveillance service based on dedicated network can not be accessed by different network technologies and has no mobility. The surveillance application based on Internet can not provide security and QoS guarantee. This paper proposes a new architecture which is based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), and analyzes the advantages of the introduction of IMS. Furthermore, the network and functional architecture of IMS-based surveillance system has been designed in which a novel player called surveillance agent has been introduced. The paper also gives a detailed description of protocols required for surveillance service and shows the signaling flows of typical service scenes.
