Deriving LV customer load profiles for croatian electricity market purposes

Too frequent metering of the consumption of small customers is currently too costly in relation to the potential savings. Therefore, establishing characteristic load profiles is essential to open up the market to small customers and facilitate competition. The paper presents representative customer classes and the corresponding characteristic load profiles developed in a project initiated by Croatian DSO. Project also proposed the guidelines for the application of characteristic load profiles in a balance settlement procedure that will probably be adopted by TSO and the regulatory authority.
