The behaviour of shear bolt connectors in MV - Cable accessories in case of critical load and overload

This paper presents the results of long term overload tests on typical multi range shear bolt connectors. In a first series of tests the behaviour of connectors itself was studied. The load cycles applied were in accordance to the connector´s standard [1]. In a second series of tests the behaviour of these connectors in typical medium voltage straight through joints, including this type of connectors, was measured and compared. For these tests the load cycles applied were in accordance to the cable accessories standard [2].
