The practical and cost saving approach of ESD control solution in manufacturing

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) control in manufacturing line using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) head requires more than the conventional prevention methods that had been established in the past. Practical strategies of controlling ESD against GMR heads in headstack assembly (HSA) manufacturing line will be shown. It is concluded that in order to establish effective and cost saving ESD prevention in HSA manufacturing line, innovative ideas and practical approaches are needed and therefore extensive capital investment for excessive control monitoring devices could be avoided.
