Abstract :
Broadcasting is a common operation in on-demand multicast routing protocol to establish and refresh routing table. A straightforward broadcasting by flooding is usually very costly and will result in serious redundancy and contention. A conditioned broadcasting algorithm for on-demand multicast routing protocol is proposed, which computes the rebroadcast probability of packets through neighbor node density and relative distance. By applying this algorithm to on-demand multicast routing protocol in ns-2 platform, the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves the protocol efficiency and reduces the redundant information.
