Abstract :
New method is developed with the goal of improving the accuracy and reliability of designing and manufacturing parallel indexing cam. Through analysis the working principle of the parallel indexing cam, system of data collection is developed to compute the coordinates of the points on the parallel indexing cam profile. Solid model of the parallel indexing cam is created in Unigraphics NX with the data. Indexing motion is verified and analyzed according to the solid model and the motion simulation model. Assemble model is applied in the tool path planning to simulate the real manufacture environment and interference is checked. NC code is generated and transported to wire electric discharge machine. Realization of the CAD/CAM integration of parallel indexing cam can improve the accuracy and reliability of designing and manufacturing parallel indexing cam greatly.
