Abstract :
This paper discusses the issue of knowledge representation when dealing with establishing commodity safety standards. From data retrieval to knowledge representation, this paper puts forwards the ontology-based method of data retrieval and data storage in case library. Specifically, RDF is employed to describe the metadata of ontology in case library and to transform searching conditions into semantic-organized information. Then matching calculation model is applied to pinpoint and extract the data needed for the case library. Validated from a practical project which exploited the potential of this method, the effectiveness of this method was demonstrated in the safety standards building process of China National Institute of Standardization. Based on the discussion of this paper, the usage of RDF in safety standards was aptly supporting the standardization of safety and data collection.
