Abstract :
A design of a pyramidal horn antenna of circular polarization with minimized effective area of scattering is offered. A method of excitation of waves of circular or elliptic polarization by their decomposition into two orthogonal waves of the basic orthogonal type H10 and H01 is developed. The basic waves are excited by two longitudinal slots in the ribs of the horn mouth. Diminishing of the effective area of scattering is achieved by absorption of waves of the highest types excited by a falling wave.
