Abstract :
The differences between CAD systems in data structures, result in the difficulty of synchronized collaborative design upon heterogeneous CAD systems. A data exchange method based on cellular ontology model (COML) is presented. Using COML as a medium, communication between heterogeneous CAD systems is achieved. COML which is a product data model of the highest abstract layer, implements uniform representation of different knowledge of CAD feature models and real-time semantics exchange. The test results show that the proposed approach is available and effective.
