Abstract :
When current GIS is giving visual presentation of statistical data, there are relatively few number of available classification models and users cannot choose proper classification method in accordance with different data distribution characteristics. To satisfy diversified demands of increasingly extensive and different users, reflect distribution characteristics of statistical data in a more scientific way, provide more classification methods and enhance visual presentation effect of statistical map, the document leverages software integration methods and MapBasic to conduct secondary development of MapX-based thematic mapping functions. For existing classification software, MapBasic calls DLL to determine distribution characteristics of statistical data. SPSS integrated in the system is used to make judgment and detailed menu in the hierarchical statistical mapping system is used to help users produce hierarchical statistical maps that are more consistent with data characteristics. The thesis research on the key technologies in system development, including integration of MapInfo and SPSS, connection between SPSS and attribute library, judgment of data distribution characteristics and realization of hierarchical model library.
