Abstract :
A timing recovery algorithm has been proposed in this paper. Johnson proposed output power maximizing timing recovery algorithm which was applied to QPSK signal. The novel algorithm can be applied to QAM signal over AWGN and multipath fading channels. It is easily implemented as it requires only one sample per symbol for its operation. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm needs no training data with fast convergence.
