Abstract
JEITA´s Predictive Maintenance Working Group is a joint organization of plant instrumentation and control suppliers. In recent years, expectations have risen for the use of predictive maintenance technology at refineries and petrochemical complexes. Taking advantage of the network provided through this working group, a survey about predictive maintenance technology by visiting industrial complexes has been completed. This paper overviews the new predictive maintenance technology, gives an analysis of the major causes that are preventing its diffusion, and proposes collaborative actions for its further improvement and diffusion.
