Abstract
The reverse osmosis (RO) desalination process is one of the methods having characteristics of high efficiency and low energy consumption. In this study, PID controller is used to improve its efficiency in RO desalination process. A new optimal algorithm combining with immune and genetic approach is proposed to extract parameters in PID controller. Computer simulation in terms of virtual process is designed and conducted to confirm the performance of the proposed algorithm. The proposed IGA (immune-genetic algorithm) shows better control performance than Ziegler-Nichols tuning method in both qualitatively and quantitatively as well.
