Abstract :
This paper investigates a design of three-dimensional multiple-aircraft tracking and identification. For this, we combined the nonlinear 3D constant-turn model and multiple-target tracking and identity management (MTIM) algorithm. The MTIM algorithm, proposed by Hwang, can keep track of multiple aircraft and their identities. We used a conventional hybrid estimator, known as interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm, for estimating the continuous and discrete state simultaneously. Based on the automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) concept, the position and velocity of the aircraft is assumed to be obtained from the GPS navigation data. The simulation study demonstrates that the extended framework of the MTIM algorithm performs well in 3D space.
