Abstract :
This paper proposes a practical method of accurately compensating for the creep error in load cells through use of digital processing. The method employs a weighted composite function as a compensation function for use in flexibly expressing a creep error curve. In addition, a compensation model for calculating the amount of compensation that corresponds to the weight loading history is also proposed. The method can be used to perform accurate creep compensation without requiring any complex computing. Its effectiveness was revealed through processing a load cell output signal that included some creep error.
