Abstract :
The effects of PSD for fine particles were investigated in subway train of Seoul. The permissible exposure limit (PEL) of fine particle, PM10, was 150 mu/m3 in underground space. In this study, we found that average PM10 concentration showed over the PEL in subway platform. Average PM10 concentration in the platform not installed PSD was 1.4 times than that in the platform installed PSD. The PSD showed to improve the safety and environmental environments in subway train of Seoul. And PSD will be finished to install in all station of Seoul until this year (2009). Average PM10 concentration at platform of ground stations reduced about 29% than that of underground platform with PSD. And average PM2.5 concentration at platform of ground stations reduced about 55.7% than that of underground platform with PSD. Finally average PM1.0 concentration at platform of ground stations reduced about 51.0% than that of underground platform with PSD.
