Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for estimating the power of the system noise for adaptive filters. The proposed algorithm is developed by using the relationship between mean square error (MSE) and excess MSE (EMSE). Recursive calculations for the MSE and the EMSE are introduced, and an estimated power of system noise is derived by using the values. Through computer simulations, we show that the estimated power of system noise is close to the true value and can track the variation of the true value.
