Abstract
We investigate the multi-stability property of cascaded optical resonators. Specifically in this work, we study an illustrative example of the deflection sensing application. The studied structure consists of two cascaded resonators. The first one has a movable mirror connected to a diaphragm to sense a deflection change, while the second resonator is filled with nonlinear optical material. We found that such a structure has a novel memory property that makes it possible to be exploited in future advanced sensing systems.
