Abstract :
The discharge of a single wire and consecutive discharges of multi-wire cables, which are examples of cable discharge events, have been characterized experimentally. The root cause of the first current peak has been evaluated as well as the influence of parameters like discharge relays or cable types. Conclusions are drawn for the experimental simulation and standardization of CDE.
