Abstract
A monocycle Ultra-Wideband (UWB) pulse generator based on 2-tap microwave photonic filter with phase inversion is proposed. The microwave filter is fed by two lasers and uses phase inversion in a Mach-Zehnder modulator to generate negative coefficients. The proposed UWB pulse generator incorporates a variable delay line to compensate the effects of the chromatic dispersion over the generated UWB pulse which can be transmitted through an optical network where dynamic assignment capacity is implemented.
