Abstract
A novel integrated waveguide grating is proposed for the dual functions of coupling light to fiber and as a variable split ratio splitter/combiner. A Mach-Zehnder delay-interferometer was fabricated using the grating coupler/splitter/combiner for DPSK demodulation.
