Abstract :
While the level of national physical training in China has been improving and on the ascending curve, the body building exercise and physical training for the seniors is still in the starting stage with many problems which can be solved with corresponding policies. In order to offer a solid foundation for the national body building policy-making, 804 urban seniors were selected as the research samples to find out their health status and body building activities. Their living habits, chronic diseases and body building activities will be researched and analyzed. The result tells that the rate of chronic diseases in the senior is quite high with gender differences. And the top three chronic diseases are osteoarthritis, high blood pressure and peripheral vascular diseases. The rate of Lishui seniors taking part in bodybuilding activities is very high. They are mainly doing aerobic exercise in various forms. But strength training and scientific guidance are almost none. While the rate of middle-aged people taking part in body building exercise is very low. And their training ways mainly lie in jogging and fast walking. Lack of exercise and scientific guidance are also very common among them.
