  • Abstract
In view of the fact that surfaces with riblets can reduce turbulent flow drag, a kind of high speed rotor which used on rotor spinning machine were designed with micro-grooves on its surface. By 3D simulating, the total drag coefficient of flow field on smooth rotor surface and non-smooth rotor surface with grooves were worked out respectively. From the results of wall shearing stress of the two types rotor, it is shown that high-speed rotors with micro triangle grooves can reduce air drag to a certain extent, and the groove depth and interval between them affect the total drag force. Compared to smooth rotors, the maximum rate of drag reduction by micro grooved surface is up to 1.284%.
