Abstract :
An method of judging the smelting end-point of the fuming furnace is presented. First the features of the flame at tertiary tuyere such as area, color, brightness and gray-level histogram distribution are analyzed, the change regularity of the flame is summed up, and mapping relations between flame features at the tertiary tuyere and smelting states of the fuming furnace are established. Then combining with the skillful scene operators´ expertise, a decision scheme for judging the smelting end-point is presented. The system established on the scheme has been applied in the zinc smelting process. The testing results indicate that the system runs stably and reliably, can effectively discriminate the smelting states and accurately judge the smelting end-point of the fuming furnace.
