Abstract :
Following with the increasingly exhausted oil resource, countries all over the world have been developing its substitutes, one of which is biofuel. The world total biofuel yield is 62.2 GL in 2007, including 52 GL of ethanol and 10.2 GL of biodiesel. 100 Mt of grain, accounting for 5% of world total grain yield, was consumed for producing biofuel. The rapid development of biofuel industry has led to strain of food accommodation and cause the increase of grain prices. The insufficiency of food supply and available cultivated land will compel human to develop cellulose ethanol technology which is free of grain to replace the current biofuel producing technology which takes grain, sugar, plant oil and etc. as its feedstock. In the last of this paper, suggestions were proposed to biofuel development strategies of China.
