Abstract
The inhibition of heavy metal ions on biological sulfate reduction system and the intensified function of Fe0 in process were studied in this paper. Mathematics model describing the relationship of metal concentration with sulfate reducing velocity and reducing percent was proposed, in which toxicity coefficient à and metal concentration Ic that restraining 50% metabolism activities were included as criterions to evaluate the inhibition of metal ions on the metabolism of sulfate reducing bacteria. Mechanisms of Fe0 eliminating the toxicity of metal ions and enhancing the activities of organism were discussed on emphasis.
