Abstract
In this study, researchers used the visual search task to investigate the difference of visual attention between the hearing impaired and hearing adults. The experimental material was adapted on the standard visual search paradigm, and the stimuli were presented and the participants´ reaction was recorded through the DMDX system. Results showed that that both within-group factors main effects were significant, and the between-subjects factor main effect was marginally significantly, hearing impaired participants searched the targets slightly faster than the hearing ones. So, we conclude that hearing impairment changed the performance of the individuals on the visual search tasks, but hearing impairment does not change the processing ways, both group search in parallel for the color, and search serially for the conjunction features.
