Abstract
The upgraded early warning radar (UEWR) is one of the key sensors in American ground-based midcourse missile defense (GMD) system, whose performance is of great importance to the success or failure of the whole missile defense system. In this paper, the technical & tactical indices and principal performance of the UEWR are analyzed in detail from the view of radar system inverse design. Finally, the detection and tracking capabilities of UEWR for the typical-trajectory-flying ballistics are analyzed and evaluated based on STK.
