Abstract :
The beam agility and the controllability of the system parameters offer phased array radar the potential to implement multifunction with high adaptability. Search performance is the base of the whole early warning phased array radar system. Horizon surveillance is a special search mode which has better search performance than traditional search; the feasibility and superiority of Horizon surveillance without pre-information were analyzed through radar search equation in this paper. The progress of horizon surveillance through two steps was presented based on beam position arrangement in directional cosines. The confirm method was investigated and the effect of threshold selection was analyzed in detail through simulation.
