Abstract :
A blind signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation algorithm is proposed which is based on eigenvalue decomposition of the covariance matrix of received signal and the weighted- average information criterion (WIC). The algorithm can correctly estimate the SNR of linear frequency-modulated (LFM) signal and phase coding signal at low input SNR without prior information of the modulation type and it is insensitive to sample size. Simulation results show the MSE of estimated SNR is less than 0.5 dB for ranging from -10 dB to 10 dB.
