Abstract :
Random stepped-frequency radar chooses the transmitted frequencies randomly. For this reason, this kind of radar can suppress the range ambiguity, improve covert detection; and the correlation output is accompanied by random noise components, which increases the side-lobe level. This paper utilizes an adaptive pulse compression (APC) algorithm to suppress side-lobes, which is compared with weight window and least-squares (LS) estimation. The simulation results show the method can suppress the side-lobes efficiently, and is superior to those traditional side-lobe suppression methods.
