Abstract
Shield method is a major method in city metro tunnel excavation. However, face instability it might cause is one of the major influencing factors for ground deformation. This paper systematically classifies and evaluates the analysis methods of face stability in shield tunnel excavation in order to lay a solid foundation for future studies on face stability.
