Abstract :
In applications of digital imaging, when a lens focuses on a subject at a certain distance, all subjects at that distance are sharply focused. However, those subjects not at the same distance are out of focus and theoretically are not sharp. In this paper, we propose one novel multifocus image fusion method to make the final images contains all subjects in focus. The proposed method is by cooperation of stationary wavelet transform and the non-subsampled contourlet transform. Firstly, the sources images with different focuses are decomposed by stationary wavelet and the non-subsampled contourlet transforms. Then their coefficients are fused with cooperative fusion rule. Finally, the fused image is obtained by the inverse transform. Experimental results on some multifocus images show that the proposed method performs well.
