Abstract :
Color plays an important role in product design and affects consumers´ preference in purchase. In this experimental study, a novel approaches, semantic differential (SD) method, was adopted to examine the difference of color perception between user and designer. Taken the mobile phone color design as an example, the difference of color perception between user and designer were explored, the model of their color perception and color image scale was set up so as to improve color design of product rationality and validity. The study provide a certain methodology direction for the extraction of color perception and will assist the designers in color design of product, thereby finding out the color attributes and meaning for color design of product.
