Experimental investigations of switching transients in a wind collection grid scale model in a cable system laboratory

• The experiments verify the occurrence of repetitive pre-strikes and re-ignitions determined by the electrical circuit and the point on wave. • The experiments show a high number of repetitive voltage transients below the ZnO arrester protection level occurring at the transformer terminals. • Repetitive voltage transients have been recorded and analyzed, showing time derivatives at e.g. the transformer terminals that may exceed the selected standard test pulse.
