Abstract
Distributed generation (DG) connected to the distribution system is becoming more common as a planning option to meet load demand and to satisfy end user needs. It is also becoming common to comply with regulatory requirements and legislative mandates. The screening of DG interconnection requests for compatibility with the power system is often required to be done in a short time period compared to normal distribution planning decisions. This paper describes a quick-turnaround DG screening process that has been implemented in a software applet which may be used to expedite the screening process. Design features of the applet are described.
