Abstract :
In this paper, the proposed model of fluorescent lamp with electromagnetic ballast was modified to be able to explain and represent the phenomena of the light flicker mechanism in case of integer and non integer harmonics included in the supply voltage waveform. A new extension on the model was implemented to calculate the harmonic current generated by fluorescent lamp. Total harmonic distortion calculations were done for lamp current and lamp voltage with a good result.
