Abstract
In this paper a design procedure of sliding mode control for uncertain dynamical system is presented. The switching hyperplane is simply designed by using system transformations. The control law is designed such that the reaching condition is guaranteed. Application to permanent magnet direct current (PMDC) motor speed control is studied. The present of load torque and parameter variations are considered. Simulation results show good performance in presence of load disturbance and parameter uncertainties.
